I'm a user experience designer with a graphic design and program management background and an MS in learning design and technology.
I'm driven by curiosity and focused on impact, meaning I find joy in learning and am passionate about building positive solutions.
These values guide my actions and decisions, ensuring that I always act with integrity and respect in all my interactions:
-
Kindness: Treat people with fairness, respect, and dignity. Be open to diverse perspectives, perform acts of service or assistance, acknowledge others' contributions, assume the best intent in others' actions, and consider others' feelings.
-
Empathetic problem-solving: Be curious about others' experiences, opinions, and feelings. Focus on understanding their needs and think about various approaches to problem-solving that address unique situations and needs.
-
Curiosity and lifelong learning: Have a mindset of continuous improvement, innovation, change, and discovery. Seek new information, ask questions, and be open to multiple perspectives, knowledge sources, and experiences.
-
Equity: Empower others to achieve their goals by providing resources and support. Advocate for fairness and equal opportunities and encourage others to value diverse perspectives.
-
Quality and excellence: Commit to excellence, add value to anything I do, set high standards for myself, and think critically to identify gaps, challenges, or inefficiencies that I can help mitigate or improve.
My Story
I was born and raised in Bogotá, Colombia, where my desire to contribute to a more equitable society led me to become a lawyer. This experience nurtured my critical thinking and applied problem-solving skills.
When I moved to the U.S., I decided to pursue my mission in the nonprofit sector. Through my work with stakeholders and clients, I developed a highly empathetic approach to program and service design with a measurable impact. My approach acknowledged the daily challenges our clients had to deal with to build programming that met them where they were, resulting in increased participation and funding.
My passion for designing positive solutions and my fierce belief in life-long learning and self-improvement paved my path for exploring various disciplines that strengthen my capacity to connect with individuals and build experiences where people are treated with respect and dignity.
Human-centered design methodologies, graphic design, and cognitive science fuel my approach to user experience design. These allow me to consider how people perceive and process information, elevate interactions with cross-functional teams, and enhance users' and business goals.
